Ramex® is an Ultrahigh Molecular Weight Polyethylene having
a molecular weight range between 3 and 6 million. It is produced
in our Orangeville, Ontario manufacturing facility.
Since 1983, when we ram extruded our first UHMW-PE rod,
we have grown through our commitment to serving customers, consistently
achieving high quality performance standards and innovation.
Outstanding resistance to impact, abrasion, chemicals and
water characterizes Ramex® UHMW-PE. It offers extremely low friction
properties and is self-lubricating. It offers great acoustical properties
for sound dampening. Ramex® also meets FDA, USDA and HPB requirements
for food contact applications.
The outstanding performance
of Ramex® delivers savings in difficult applications. Ramex® UHMW-PE’s
low friction, toughness and resistance to abrasion and corrosion ideally
suit it for use as liners in chutes and hoppers to promote the flow
of bulk materials, as well as extending the life of material handling
equipment. It is also well suited for use as guides and wear plates
in the promotion of the flow of solid objects like bottles or containers.
The extraordinary wear and self lubricating properties of parts manufactured
from Ramex® result in superior replacement parts and long-lasting
components on original equipment. Unlike most other materials, Ramex®
can be effectively used in temperatures lower than -200ºF.
Ramex® is lightweight and easily machined
on equipment conventionally used to fabricate wood or metals. It can
be milled, sawed, turned, planed, routered, drilled or punched.
Our unique Ram Extrusion process,
which we developed and have perfected during the past fifteen
years, is designed to manufacture sheet on a continuous basis
and at variable lengths. This provides improved consistency and
flatness of our UHMW-PE sheets and allows users to choose lengths
that give optimum yields, resulting in material savings.
We have also invested in the latest Compression Molding
technology enabling us to expand the range of products that
we can manufacture.
To enhance our ability to perform
at consistently superior levels, we have designed our quality
process to provide products and services that exceed the requirements
of our customers. To this end, we have received our Certificate
Of Registration according to the quality system requirements of
ISO 9002.
